| SOUNDPROOFING MATS SAFETY DATA SHEET |
CHEMICAL DATA 1.1 The material is a compounded and proceessed mixture of thermoplastic organic polymers, phthalate esters, mineral fillers, stabilisers and pigmentation. 1.2 At temperatures >100°C over prolonged periods there can be a gradual degredation of the polymers which results in the evolution of acid fumes. The rate of evolution increases with increased temperature and during combustion. 1.3 The material contains inorganic compounds of calcium and barium GENERAL PHYSICAL DATA 2.1 The material is produced as a monolayer i sheet form or die-cut parts. 2.2 Colour: Dark Grey 2.3 Density: 2.05g/cm³ 2.4 Melting Range: >95°C PROTECTIVE MEASURES 3.1 No dermatological problems have been encountered but due to the presence of some toxic inorganic compounds, ingestion should be avoided. Normal industrial hygiene practises should be applied. 3.2 Normal fire precaution measures should be taken. Even though the material is self-extinguishing, in a fire situation, due to the formation of acid fumes and volatile metal compounds, self contained breathing apparatus should be worn by fire fighters. 3.3 Storage areas should be ventilated 3.4 This material is normally bonded to other materials during subsequent conversion processes and full recognition of their role should be taken. WASTE RECOVERY 4.1 Offcuts can be recycled or disposed of in accordance with local authoirity legislation. |
