ACOUSTIC CARPET UNDERLAY (Part Code A310) Made from a rubber base layer and a high grade felt top layer, Acoustic Carpet Underlay is designed for installation beneath carpets to give superior reduction in impact noise transmission through to the floors below. This underlay is far superior to the standard corrugated foam underlays which do very little to reduce impact noise transfer. This product is not suitable for 'airborne' noise reduction. If airborne noise is the problem then you need to look at our other solutions involving Acoustic Mineral Wool, Soundproofing Mats and/or Quietfloor Slabs. |
|
It is suitable for all types of floor surfaces including wood, concrete, asphalt, and is particularly recommended on uneven floors.
It is quick and easy to install:- Simply lay down with the rubber to the floor surface. Take care to but the edges tightly togeather and close to the gripper rods. Subfloors should be clean, dry and free of any oil, grease or damp. |

This product meets the building regulatory standards for impact insulation when laid on a concrete floor. The tested sample meets the minimum performance requirements of BS. 5808:1991 (1996) This material, when laid directly on an 18mm chipboard floor, measures around 48dB of impact noise. When you consider that building regulations require an imapct level of 61dB or less this product comes well within those limits. Impact Sound Improvement Index ISO Method 140 part8 - Delta Lw.34dB If a concrete floor has the required mass of 350kg/m² this product will meet the new regulations for both airborne and impact noise penetration through the floor if it is glued to the floor surface. Classification: Heavy Contract / Heavy Domestic BS.5808:1991 Please note as this is a recycled product there can be colour variations from batch to batch
