NOTES: All edges must be well sealed with acoustic sealant. The framework should be isolated from contact with the perimeter structure using our 10mm thick neoprene isolation strips. The plasterboard should be kept around 5mm away from the surrounding structure and this gap sealed with acoustic sealant. Plasterboard seams should not coincide. MODIFICATIONS: Adding our Acoustic Membrane between 2 layers of 12.5mm plasterboard will improve the above system by between 8-10dB Adding Resilient Bars to at least one side will improve the above system by around 3-5dB |
