melamine acoustic foam

High noise levels are not only harmful to human hearing but important instructions and emergency warnings can go unheard in the general commotion of noisy buildings. It is a proven fact that noise reduces productivity in the workplace and results in lack of concentration, irritation and higher stress levels.

This problem is recognised and minimum acoustic standards are set out for builders and designers of existing and new buildings. Buildings should comply with the acoustic standards set out by the British Standards Institute (B.S.I.) and by the department for Education (D.F.E.E.). These tiles are also used in common hallways and orridoors to absorb reverberant noise, as required in Building Regulations Approved Document E, for residential flats.

These tiles provide a simple and effective means of markedly increasing the sound absorption within rooms and halls resulting in lower sound levels to comply with these regulations. They are easily glued with our clear web-spray adhesive to the ceiling or wall surfaces so no special tradesmen are required so installation costs are minimum. They can be easily cut with a sharp knife.

Melamine foam is a unique, flexible, open cell foam, possessing a combination of low weight, a Class0 fire specification and excellent sound absorption properties.

MELAMINE
Produced from melamine resins, Melamine foam exhibits superior fire, temperature and chemical resistance. Furthermore being halide free, Melamine foam when exposed to either naked flame or extreme heat does not emit any of the toxic bi-products associated with conventional polyurethane based acoustic foams.

Melamine foam is fibre and CFC free as well as having excellent fire resistant ratings. These tiles can be used with excellent results in applications such as offices, halls, classrooms, nurseries, shooting ranges etc.

These panels are produced in pairs, i.e. cut positive and negative. When fixing these panels , start in the center of the wall/ceiling working outwards. Each successive row should commence with the opposite panel than the one before and alternate row after row.

A 5mm shadow gap can be left between panels, when installed, to give possibly a better optical view. Clean gloves should be worn when installing white melamine foam.
